Be a Star Volunteer and Change a Life!
Why does Tuscarawas County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities need volunteers?
To provide the means for each individual we serve to realize his or her potential. The agency uses volunteers to supplement the efforts of paid staff, to make possible some the many “extras” which enhance the lives of the individuals we serve, and to be active in making it possible for these individuals to experience positive community involvement by distributing literature about our agency and general disability awareness, by becoming a “big brother or sister” or even an advocate to an individual who has mental retardation or developmental disabilities… and much more!
The possibilities are endless. You or your organization are welcome to volunteer when your time and energy permit.
For more information about becoming a volunteer or to share your ideas for volunteer projects, please call the volunteer coordinator at 330-339-9573, email us or or click on the Be A Star logo on the left.
